  My experience with Dr. Rolston was very different than the described compassion and professionalism by other reviewers. I was pleased by the facility when I arrived the staff was kind and friendly. The facility was clean and felt more like a nice hotel lobby than a doctor's office. My initial impression of Dr. Rolston was that he was very excited about his work and he was extremely detailed about it. I explained to him that I didn't follow all the science of what he was discussing and could he please be less technical. (to dumb it down for me) I don't believe he understood what I was asking and continued the technical jargon that was extremely unhelpful. After 5 minutes of history intake he requested me to complete one test in office with his nurse. He returned 20 minutes later and gave a diagnosis that completely took me by surprise. I was confused by his diagnosis and tried to express this and to ask questions only to be confronted by hostility. He was visibly upset by my questioning of his medical opinion. In his response he accused me of be belittling his life’s work. My response was very simply, it is my body, my health and I feel I have the right to question this information. After that he was more hostile and I told him that I was uncomfortable with the situation. I had to say that I was uncomfortable several times before he agreed to leave the room and send the nurse in with my paperwork so I could leave. After leaving in tears because I have NEVER been treated so poorly by a member of the medical profession his office manager called. Connie was very kind and polite and apologized.

  I appreciated Dr. Rolston. He discussed my course of treatment with me explaining the whys and hows. He didn't just write a prescription and act like it was impossible for me to have any input or ideas regarding my own treatment. He allowed me to talk medicine and treatment to him on a level closer to his since my mother is a registered nurse, I had done a lot of research pre-visit, I had been treated by another doctor previously, and, therefore, all of the aforementioned factors contributed to my having some familiarity with various treatment options, etc. He also has a son that is in medicine and used to work for the San Francisco 49ers. So, I love the fact that Dr. Rolston, through repeat discussions with his son and his own experiences, has familiarity with asthma and allergies from an athletic perspective rather than a "couch potato" perspective only. I enjoyed the visit and am ready to approach my treatment in a slightly adjusted way.
